Lame Dairy PLC

LAMME DAIRY PLC “Sholla Dairy” was started operation in 1947 G.C by importing 300 exotic breeds of dairy cattle supplied by the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration. UNICEF supported the processing plant establishment in 1960 G.C, and the enterprise started collecting milk from small scale farmers in addition to large commercial farms.The plant was expanded in 1969 G.C, and state owned dairy farms were established to supply milk for the plant and as demonstration site for establishment of private commercial farms.
