Horizon Addis Tyre Manufacturing P.L.C was established in October 1972 G.C with full ownership of the Ethiopian government formerly known as Addis Tyre Share Company and at that time officially inaugurated by Emperor Hailesilasie Initially the company privatized with a joint venture modality in June, 2004 and Slovakian MATADOR acquired 61% share and the company name became MATADOR-Addis Tyre S.C.
