MIDROC Investment Group’s special “MIDROC Week” exhibition has officially opened at Meskel Square in Addis Ababa, in the presence of H.E. Temesgen Tiruneh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh praised MIDROC’s significant contribution to Ethiopia’s economy over the past 30 years. He highlighted the Group’s role as a steadfast partner during challenging times and emphasized that strengthening MIDROC is vital to strengthening the nation. He also underscored the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector.
MIDROC Investment Group CEO Jemal Ahmed stated that, following its restructuring six years ago, the Group has continued to make a significant contribution to Ethiopia’s economic development. He reaffirmed the Group’s commitment to national development through its investments and the completion of major projects.
During the last fiscal year alone, MIDROC paid more than ETB 31 billion in taxes, demonstrating its contribution to public revenue and its commitment as a responsible taxpayer. The Group also generated more than USD 390 million in foreign currency for the country.
Operating across agriculture, mining, manufacturing, construction and real estate, hospitality, and commerce, MIDROC Investment Group has created employment opportunities for more than 80,000 citizens. The Group also allocates 10% of its annual net profit to corporate social responsibility initiatives.
